SIMOF 2026: trends that are redefining flamenco dresses

Categories : Default

Reinvented polka dots, new colour palettes and fabrics with movement set the tone for the upcoming flamenco season.

SIMOF 2026 has once again confirmed that flamenco fashion is undergoing a period of rapid evolution. Tradition remains, but it is expressed through new proportions, richer colour combinations and an increasingly prominent use of fabric. Polka dots are reinterpreted, textures interact with each other and comfort becomes an essential value. It is the perfect context in which to analyse the trends that have marked the catwalk and how new fabrics are becoming the creative basis for today's flamenco dresses.

Polka dots, more alive than ever

If there is one indisputable element at SIMOF 2026, it is the polka dot. Far from disappearing, it is transforming. This season we see it superimposed, combined and mixed on different scales within the same design, bringing dynamism and modernity without losing its flamenco essence.

This trend connects directly with fabrics such as Brozas, with intertwined and overlapping polka dots in red, green and purple, or Noalejo, where different sizes coexist to create visual rhythm. Taha, with its composition of polka dots forming black and green squares, also reflects this new way of understanding the classic print from a more contemporary perspective.

Small, medium and large scales: the visual game

Small polka dots continue to have their place, especially in more refined outfits or monochromatic styles. Fabrics such as Mesía, with multicoloured polka dots measuring 0.70 cm on a black background, or Martín, in brown with beige, green and chocolate polka dots, fit perfectly into this elegant and timeless line.

At the same time, large polka dots are gaining prominence as a key decorative element. MYRANDA's double-sided jacquards, available in both 3.75 cm and more striking 10 cm sizes, seen in combinations such as black/bone, bougainvillea/biscuit or navy/copper, are in line with this trend that focuses on visual impact, structure and presence.

Monochrome and colour harmony

Another key feature of SIMOF 2026 has been the focus on monochromatic looks, where the suit, shawl and accessories are integrated within the same colour range. This trend reinforces the elegance of the outfit and puts the focus on the fabric, volume and detail.

Fabrics such as Casar, black with red, yellow, green and blue polka dots, allow this monochrome look to be worked with small touches of colour, while designs such as Martín or Mesía reinforce that sense of chromatic harmony so present on the catwalk.

New colour palettes: earth tones, pastels and soft contrasts

The classic white, red and black trilogy is expanded this season with earth tones, beiges, browns, olive greens and dusty colours, which coexist with more vibrant accents. This palette connects with a more natural, sophisticated and versatile flamenco style.

In this context, ESTP cotton linen, available in ecru, brick red and capri, brings freshness and authenticity, while Martín's browns and greens and Mesía's dark backgrounds with multicoloured polka dots reflect this new chromatic sensibility seen at SIMOF.

Fabrics that move with you

Midi dresses, larger ruffles and new proportions require fabrics with drape, elasticity and comfort. The catwalk has made it clear that movement is as important as aesthetics.

Slightly stretchy georgettes such as Martín, Mesía, Noalejo and Taha, together with soft fabrics with elastane such as Brozas and Casar, meet this need, allowing freedom of movement without sacrificing the structure or elegance of the flamenco dress.

Tradition reinterpreted

SIMOF 2026 demonstrates that flamenco fashion is not reinventing itself by breaking with its essence, but rather by reinterpreting it through fabric, colour and detail. Polka dots continue to be the common thread, but now they are expressed with new scales, textures and colour combinations.

Our new fabric collection has been created precisely to respond to these trends, becoming the creative basis for the outfits that will mark the coming season. Because flamenco fashion evolves, but its identity remains intact.
